Sarolia Ada was born in “Sunshine City”, the island of St-Martin, on the 2nd of September 1983.
She is of French nationality but considers her self to be “Multiracial” due to her multiple origins and attributes of her island of birth.
Sarolia was introduced to fashion at the age of five, when people began asking her mother if she could model for children’s boutiques in St-Martin. Since then Sarolia kept a great interest for the fashion environment and became passionate about clothing design.
At the age of 14 she was modeling for various boutiques and diverse events in St-Martin/St-Maarten.
Later on at the age of 16 she began to participate in beauty pageants and modeling contests such as the “Miss Caraibes Hibiscus” pageant of she which she emerged with the title of 1rst runner up in 2001 and the “Best Model of St-Martin/St-Maarten” contest in 2004 which led her to Istanbul –Turkey, where she won the title of “best Model of America” (America, as a continent).
Sarolia left St-Martin after graduating from high school with a diploma in economical and social science and settle in Martinique F.W.I where she acquired a B.A in English Arts after 4 years. During these four years, even though she was studying, Sarolia was constantly on the fashion scene. She took part in various fashion events such as forums, local designer fashion shows and theme parties.
That’s how in 2005, Sarolia met with Marcus Blassingame, editor of “Black men Magazine” based in Atlanta. The magazine offered her, her first national print modeling experience as she appeared in a double paged article in August 2005.
From there, Sarolia knew she would continue to work with the fashion industry and became more interested in ads and print modeling.
December 2005 marks the turning point, of the beginning of Sarolia’s career as a model and aspiring Fashion Designer as she left St-Martin for Chicago, IL where she has been enrolled as a fashion major full time student at the “International Academy of Design & Technology” since January 2006 and is working on a B.A in Fashion Design.
In Chicago, Sarolia has been working since her arrival with photographer Reggie Payton and taken part in diverse projects, fashion shows and events through the city.
At the age of 24, Sarolia is now looking forward to graduating in March 2009 and currently preparing her first fashion show as a model and designer for this summer 2008.
She has hopes of getting her own customized wear and personal styling business and of doing grater things in modeling. She would like to work with magazines and would like to try herself at ads and acting.
