Mantra Films, Inc. which oversees the exciting brand Girls Gone Wild in multiple distribution and entertainment marketing channels, based in Santa Monica, seeks a Director of Operations to manage the Operations team across multiple verticals.
Typical Responsibilities:
Oversee general operations task across company departments
Reports to head of marketing, operations and business affairs
Identify, implement and launch processes and procedures to execute company strategies and achieve stated goals
Work with marketing and business affairs in identifying, prioritizing and approving projects
Recommend, seek approval and implement approved criteria against which all projects are evaluated; and link their value to the brand business strategy
Ensure all required data for making production decisions is complete and available for decision-making
Maintain all aspects of reporting and documentation
Work closely with Creative, Production, IT, Resource Planning, Marketing and other departments to ensure products and projects meet objectives and timelines
Be a catalyst with the technology team to ensure collaborative and efficient efforts that can have practical application to all departments
Foster collaboration and cross-functional team building
Monitor resource constraints affecting the completion of projects in the pipeline and make recommendations about revisions and modifications to achieve goals
Analyze resources, project sequencing, etc. for accomplishing desired projects
Work closely with project and resource managers to identify project interrelationships that will affect project priority and resource allocation decisions
Lead and adapt production processes across the organization
Identify, hire and manage outside vendors and contract resources and budgets
Monitor and manage development, milestone and release schedules
Help define and follow company guidelines for accountability of various departments
Follow up on key progress, milestones, deadlines and accomplishment
Assist business team to define, close, and execute SOWs with 3rd party vendors
Create and maintain process and system training procedures
Provide day-to-day guidance and support to division managers
Main Requirements:
5-10 years of experience in an operations, project management and (preferred) television and web production capacity
Experience managing project managers and support personnel as well as leading and motivating cross-functional teams
Successful track record for meeting creative and marketing objectives on time and within budget
Exceptional verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong technical and business acumen
Direct Response Experience Required
Retail Experience Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strategic business focus and understanding; customer-focused perspective
Extensive organization, communication, and facilitation skills able to interact credibly with executive management
Long-term focus and ability to make (or make recommendations regarding) difficult/complex strategic decisions
Willing to assume responsibility and ownership for making critical decisions (or recommendations for decisions) related to approving, rejecting, and discontinuing projects
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to create an open environment where conflicts as to project priorities and funding decisions can be aired and resolved in an objective manner
High-level understanding of direct response business in television and online
Ability to instill trust, motivate, and work with other people, ability to lead a team
Cost accounting and budgeting knowledge/understanding
Ability to create and deliver executive-level summary reports and presentations
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required
Salary: $55,000 to $90,000 based upon experience
