We're shooting a documentary style piece for an educational video about how the brain works in children ages 0-5. This video will be distributed to schools and educators across North America for educational purposes.
We're looking for real parents and kids ages 0-5 to shoot for about two hours total in their home, yard, or at a park. We're shooting b-roll to use this footage as examples of how kids learn, act, and interact.... So we'd want to do things like showing a three year old learning how to put on her shoes, or ten month old trying to get Cheerio's into his mouth, or a five year old practicing letters or recognizing his name written. We'll try to have each family do about five to ten of the things we're looking for, depending on how well each activity goes with the kids... We're looking for real life. It is OK if you're actors, or trying to be actors, but we're not looking for acting. We're looking for the ways kids really act.
It would be ideal to shoot in your home. It'll be easier for the kids, the more natural their environment, the more natural they tend to be.
We're hoping to shoot everything on Monday October 9th. But we will look at submissions of people who are unavailable that day, if you are exactly what we are looking for, we can schedule another time.
We're looking for diversity. Races, genders, ages.
We are not offering any payment for this, but you'll get a copy of the finished DVD as well as a DVD with the raw footage of you and your child/children. We shoot in HD, so the footage will be a nice momento of this time in their life. They change so quickly at this age!
Please submit:
1) A photo of you and a photo of your child/ren. (A snapshot is fine. We do not need a headshot. But it must be a RECENT photo).
2) Ages of children.
3) Your availability for Monday October 9th
4) A brief paragraph about you and your kid(s). Short and sweet, just a little intro to who you are.
