I am wondering if Model Productions is a legitimate company or a scam. They have this huge catwalk set up in our local mall with sign up sheets for all those interested to sign up. Well, I signed up my 2yr old son and my 4yr old daughter. They called me first for my daughter, and then the next day for my son for "auditions". Anyway, we went to the auditions. They had to memorize a line and walk down the catwalk. They both did a great job and were both picked. We then were instructed to line up to pay for our "photo shoots" that we had to schedule for the next week. $150 for each photo shoot for 15 pics. The next step after the photo shoot, is a "fashion show" where contestants have to decorate these t-shirts with "model productions" written on them and model them. There is also a talent show, where everyone has 45 sec to do something special, like sing, act out a commercial, dance, etc...
If you are picked at the end of these shows, you win a 1 yr contract with them and they are supposed to get you modeling/acting auditions or whatever. As you can see, I am very new to this. I know absolutely nothing about the modeling industry. I do think my children would do quite well in modeling, and I would love to pursue it but I'm a little uneasy about this company. Please note this is not an agency, this is some sort of placement/management service for models. They claim to place models with agencies around the world and have some of the girls from ANTM on there. My question is has anyone used them before? There is a 129.00 fee associated with it, however I have only turned up one thing somewhat questionable, but the reason it was placed there is questionable. So my question is if anyone has used this service and if so what was your experience like? If no one has I'll post my own results here in September.

I went to a casting call for Wilhelmina of PA recently and was accepted into the agency. The agency is run by Kelli Harman, and after doing a background check on her, I came across the following information which made me believe the whole thing was a scam:

The problem is, there are some up front fees I would have to pay: photos, classes, etc, coming to a total of over $1500. I was told to avoid agencies that made you pay these fees before actually getting a job. However, I was told at the casting call that these fees are tax deductible as business expenses and could be written off when I filed my taxes. So it's like an investment more than a cost.

I'm so confused about this. I'm new to modeling and don't really know where to go from here. Plus I'm a COMPLETELY broke college student and can't afford any scams. If you could give me your opinion based on this information, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Then when I was being a little difficult about photographs, agency photographers, etc., I received an email from a woman named "Callie Barker JD" (the JD indicating that she is an attorney).

"She" (or whoever) was VERY rude and unprofessional.

RECENTLY of this year 2009, March, I received a "mass forwarded email" announcing some BIG event for models, businesses, agencies, etc.etc. The man referred to himself as "Jayce"!
And this time, the email he used was:

THEN.... another isolated event occurred. I went to a casting call held here in Renton, WA.
They said it was for "HENCH" Energy Drink and other future gigs.

For models who could not attend, they were required to send a RSVP stating that they couldn't attend, but attach images to the email:

A whole bunch of innocent and unbeknownst aspiring models showed up, including me.
They said they would give us a call if they were interested in any one of us.

From a woman named "Natasha" but on her answering machine, her name was "Natalia".


When I put 2 and 2 together, I sent the "Jayce" guy an email saying, "Stop scamming people. What comes around goes around."

He then calls me afterwards, and leaves me a voice message cussing at me:

"Susan, you just sent a fucking dirty ass email. This is not a scam. Call and check with SMG, TCM, and any other big modeling agencies here in Washington."


I am so temped to email him and call him out on his little SCAM he's got goin' on here.
But I'm afraid he will harass me since he has my cell phone number.

Try calling the phone number listed and you will get an anwsering service that is full (they all have the same phone number, just different websites). Try emailing them...no response. 1. He is offering a high amount of money to non-signed talent.
2. He's not securing talent through an Agency.
3. He's in Europe where there is a huge pool of good talent. Why recruit in the US?

Instincts are usually correct and mine say that this person/company aren't what they appear to be. Judge for yourself tho. I may actually call the number to see if I can get a someone on the line.

This seems like the scam where they send you a fake money order to purchase travel and then have you mail or deposit their percentage to them. Then the authorities come looking for you when the bank learns it is fake.

Those words came out of the PRESIDENT's mouth.
However when I received my call back for my interview, my scout informed us that I would have to go through their school in order to get into the actual agency.
Which would cost $2,250 .
They also say they're an affiliate of Elite.
Ha. They're not.
The President of Elite said themselves that you should not pay any upfront fees.

I've heard that they changed their name recently from Ash Models to Chrome class and that their reputation under Ash was imfamous. Then A friend of me found some info on backpages saying that they where a scam and that they promise to get you all this great work and pay you but in realty they never pay any one. Does anyone know anything???
