Working & Acting Hi Court. You are in a difficult situation. There are so many different ways you can look at your situation and so many different possibilities. Brainstorm every possibility thoroughly before making any decisions. Have a good friend who knows you well and what you go through help you. (You will need that special person in your life that you trust and who loves you to help. For me it is my best friend Shawn). I will try to make this as short and sweet as possible. We may have to talk on the phone so we can elaborate more and weigh out options. If you can find a job that is flexible to your acting schedule and if you will not have to take a pay cut then that wouldn't be a bad idea. On the other hand if you have a good job that you enjoy and pays the bill I would say stay put. Jobs especially good ones are hard to come by. You need a job so that u can support yourself financially in every aspect (living, acting classes, etc.)
I would say pick and choose your auditions carefully. Don't burn yourself out doing everything (been there done that-it's not good). You’re going to have to plan your day out and stick to it the best you possibly can. Be sure to prioritize: Work, Class, Auditions, Practice (your acting), Gym, -whatever it is.
I will tell you now it is a lot of hard work and you have to stay motivated. I think working hard for what you want will help to determine if this is what you really want and how bad you want it. Not to mention it will help build your character. See this experience as practice, look at this experience of multiple multi-tasking as a skill you have to master-it only gets more hectic. Time management is the key. It is important to have balance. You need time for yourself, and friends, leisure activities, and also your two jobs-your 9-5 and acting.
I have faith that you can do whatever you put your mind to. I hope that you have found this information useful. (By the way I work full-time and maintain all of this as well. So it is all possible).
Take care and be blessed.
