Frustrated!!!!!!!!!

I work at networking when I can, thru e-mail cause at this time I can't travel. I always submit for jobs and never get and answer back. It seems like I am always looking for auditions and castings. But after all that has happened I can't find anyone that is truly interested in working with me. It seems to me like a model has to basically show off certain parts of herself or be somewhat nude to get jobs or interest! That is so frustrating to me because I know that I am talented and I ain't ugly!HA! I ain't conceited, don't get me wrong, but I feel I have a lot to offer to the industry. Can someone please tell me what to do and what I am doing wrong and IF I am wrong for feeling this way. I am trying not to give up hope! Sincerely a Frustrated 1MODELGEE :cry:

Well your picture looks great! I can see that your beautiful. A lot of times people look at the quality of the pictures and judge the model on creativity and style.

Honestly the last thing they care about is how good you look. A majority of Runway models are NOT very attrctive in person. The want to know about experience and talent. For a new person it can be like trying to get your first credit card from a company that requires you have credit history.

Do me a favor send some of your pictures to info@fullblownent.com. Let me take a look at them and I can help tell you where you need improvement with the submissions. But remember this. you might not be doing anything wrong. It's all about who you know.

Hi! Mykkal is right! Just dont give up and try lots of castings. You may also want to try different photographers. I am just blessed that when I first started off I had a great photographer. I personally prefer photographers with digital cameras. I had a photographer with a camera that used film, but most of those shots look grainy. Have you checked out our photography section? Some photographers are willing to do do TFP (time for prints) Dont give up hope! I have been modeling on and off since the age of 18 and now I am starting to see things turn around. Try different sites for castings. I am on blackcuties.com they have lots of stuff on there. But as always be careful when taking jobs and look real deep into before pursuing it. Hey there. You are off to a good start by networking. I’ve learned that it’s not even who you know, but who knows you and who likes you (remember that).
I see that where u live is also not the best place for modeling. I use to go to school over in Tallahassee, and had a very difficult time trying to model there because the work was not in that area. When I was out there I did a lot of promotional modeling. I am queen of promotions. I can sell and or promote whatever someone gives me. Use this time where u r to perfect your skills. Master taking pictures and your poses. Get into promotional modeling (if you haven’t already).
It is very difficult in this business. You will often times have a difficult time getting people to take you seriously, especially if you are beautiful which you are, and being a woman of color I believe that is another automatic strike against you. Don’t be discouraged because you haven’t been called back yet. Often times those projects never even happen! See not being called back as a blessing in disguise-God has something bigger and better in store for you, so you have to prepared.
My manager and I will look at your pics and we can start from there.
Hopefully we will be able to steer you in the right direction. In the meanwhile keep your head up and keep doing your thang!
