Project Type: TV Pilot
Casting / Audition Details: The Green Room is an original SoLofty Productions sit-com pilot to be shot locally during the months of April and May. The story revolves around a troupe of actors in an off, off, off-Broadway type setting. The settings are mainly the green room of the theatre and the basement bar below the theatre, which the actors frequent.
Character Breakdown: Jack- 30ish. Usually the voice of reason. Others tend to gravitate toward him for advice. As the theatre is constantly bringing in young male “eye-candy”, this is a source of constant angst for him and his ego is continually taking a beating.
Amy – 30ish. Operations Manager. Very business savvy, but comes across as perky and cutesy. An acerbic side shows itself occasionally, which is very disarming for those around her.
Mr. Drake – 40-60. Landlord who is trying to reclaim the theatre space for more a more profitable venture. He is the main villain/antagonist. He is very arrogant and always looking for the next big money maker. No morals.
Cammy – Early 20’s. Hot, young upstart. Knows she is hot, constantly uses this to her advantage. Not a very good actress, but uses her looks and devious side to get her the best parts. Always seems to know the gossip.
Randall - 50ish, A drunk, but can come across as very debonair. British (possibly faux) accent. Continually sneaking to the bar between scenes for a refresher.
Frances Piddy – 50-60 Aging diva, still looks good, but is definitely past her prime. She is threatened by all females. Sees herself still as the young starlet. Has a "magic mirror" and whenever she looks into it, a young model is seen.
Warren – 40-50. The director. Can be overly dramatic, sees himself as brilliant and all those around him are inferior.
Eric – 25-35. He is ambiguous in his sexuality. No one really knows for sure if he is gay or straight. Very fashion conscious. Tends to be in the thick of things.
Bud – 40-60. The all-knowing bartender who is continually doling out words of wisdom in the stereotypical bartender fashion. He seems to have knowledge and connections that are baffling and is extremely vague about his past, and most things concerning his personal life.
Beulla – 60-70. Extremely wealthy spinster who took a turn down crazy lane after her stint as a childhood actor didn’t pan out. She is a chain-smoker with a raspy voice.
