Newnan Theater Company presents auditions for "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". This American classic that takes place in an early 1960’s mental institution combines dry humor with deeply instropective looks into a wide variety of personalities, psyches, and human interaction.
Over the years NTC has developed a region-wide reputation for excellence and outstanding theatrical presentation. No pay offered, but a GREAT opportunity for fun and your portfolio.
Show runs three weekends, Aug. 9 thru 25th.
Character Breakdown: Because of the size and breadth of the cast, there is room – and a need – for actors of all kinds, from brand new beginners on up to seasoned pros. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
CAST:
Chief Bromden: Tall, imposing Indian; very quiet and somber – male, 30-50 years old
Aides Williams, Washington and Turkel: strong supporting roles – males, 20’s – 40’s
Nurse Ratched: Stern, controlling – female, 40’s – 50’s
Nurse Flinn: *’t to Nurse Ratched – female, 20’s – 30’s
Dr. Spivey: male, 50’s
Randle McMurphy: boisterous, egotistical, bigger-than-life, the show’s centerpiece – male, 40’s – 50’s

Dale Harding: Intellectually hen-pecked – male, 40’s – 60’s
Billy Bibbitt: shy and introverted with a pronounced stutter – male, 20’s
Charles Cheswick: male, 30’s – 50’s
Frank Scanlon: male, 40’s – 60’s
Anthony Martini: male, 30’s – 50’s
Ruckly: male, 30’s – 50’s
Candy Starr: Think of Debbie Dunham in “American Grafitti” – female, 20’s – 40’s
Sandy: female, 20’s – 30’s
