Director: Zafer Ercevik. Kate, a woman who lives in the United States with her husband, Ufuk, a Turkish male, discovers the devastating truth that her unborn child has severe mental and physical defects. She decides she must abort her child without the consent of her husband in order to save it and herself from the overwhelming hardships of a life of retardation. In the end, the audience is left to answer for themselves the highly controversial question, did she go ahead with the abortion or change her mind because of her unborn child’s heartbeat?

Ufuk: A Turkish, man, around 27-31 years old, Kate’s husband. He looks like a middle easterner ,but not like an Arab ( Arabs have very distinctive facial features from the other mid-easterner people). He has a tawny or light tawny skin. His height is around 5’.6’’ – 5’.7’’. he doesn’t have a muscular body, he is not slim or chubby ,but he is a kind of man who is suitable to do almost any physical work. He has an egg-shaped head, a dark hair which is partly white.

2. Female / 25-30 yrs. / White.
Kate: Kate is a pale, white, American woman with blonde wavy hair. She is between 27-31 years old. Height: 5’.4’’ – 5.5’’. She is not quite fat ,but looks somehow plump due to her 15 week pregnancy. She is not a sexy or beautiful woman, she is more like a mother (even if she is not). Her round face clearly shows her kind heart. The actress should not have any problem with showing her belly in the medical examination scene ,and playing a Muslim man’s wife in the movie.
