CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: NOTE: Phil, Frank and Winston are cast. Phyllis (Phil) - Forty-something female, Frank’s ex-wife, estranged for fifteen years. She is attractive, funny, honest, straightforward, and determined. Not easily frightened or intimidated, but she has her own set of personal problems, and baggage from the former relationship. A “steel magnolia”, with a heart of pine. (CAST) Frank – Owner of Bar None, the bar that was started by he and his wife, Phil, and he continued to operate the bar after she left. Forties to fifties male, handsome, charming in a jock-ish ladies man sort of way, but slightly goofy. Gullible, and susceptible to compliments. Appears to be completely shallow and devoid of morals, but a closer look reveals his depth, and personal struggle. (CAST) Winston – Frank’s best friend for the last five years. Older, fifty-ish, very dry, witty, difficult to ruffle, a tough shell over a more sensitive and artistic interior. (CAST) Wen-dell – Thirties-Forties, gay male Caucasian. Lawyer, very southern, catty, scathing wit, small in stature but compensates with over-inflated ego. Wen-dell (Wen-DELL) is completely self-centered, and always looking to benefit from any situation. Sydney – (Syd) Twenty-something FEMALE, cute, perky, and flaky to the max. Completely ditzy sense of logic, and total stream of consciouness thinker. In the moment, in a way that renders both the future and the past beside the point. Raised as a wealthy fashionable debutante, but now on the outs with her family, because of her relationship with Diego. She is the cocktail waitress at Bar None. Diego - Twenties to early thirties, biker type, the bigger and hairier the better. Complete contrast to his love, Sydney, but with a huge heart to match his huge Harley. Diego, is the cook at Bar None, prone to gourmet dishes he invented while in the “joint”, and which he names for different crimes. Scary on the outside, and sweet on the inside, like one of his desserts, and completely entranced by Syd. Felicia – Thirties-forties, male drag queen, any race. Speaks with a pronounced Hispanic flavor. Warm and kind, with an understanding of her (his) fellow man, and her own situation. She is a talented and experienced performer who loves what she does, on and off the stage. Well known to the neighborhood, and to the regulars at Bar None. Flamboyant, funny, and exotically attractive. Dwayne – Phil and Frank’s son – Late teens, tends toward a punk-ish look. He has been raised by Phil, and moved around a lot. Loves his mother but has issues with her lifestyle, and blames her for his lack of information with his father, though he looks like him, and has some of his mannerisms. His existence is unkown to Frank. FBI guy # 1 – Forties, early fifties. Mature agent type, businesslike, without being threatening, experienced. Interested in getting the facts, but not without a compassionate side. May also play other supporting roles in the bar group scenes (with dialogue), including the part of the news announcer. FBI guy # 2 – Twenties, thirties, younger agent. Professional, but not yet jaded. May also play other roles in the bar group scenes, with or without dialogue. News Announcer – To be played by the same actor as FBI guy #1. Thanks! Dennis Coburn and Della Cole | mykkal Administrator Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: United States - Georgia Age: 33
