friendship
with KAMAL, the Arab urchin who stole his coin collection. But when

and Kamal run away from a gang of street urchins, they meet a series of

JOSEPH launches an all-out search to find his missing son
Seeking-
KAMAL: A 10 year old Arab boy, raised in poverty, he's a street savvy
urchin who hawks postcards to make a meagre living, and is beaten by his severe grandfather for any and every reason. In other words, his life is as different from the affluent David's as can possibly be imagined.
Anxious to escape from his dismal home life, Kamal longs to go to live with his "rich" uncle in America, but his notions of that country are highly
romanticized and inaccurate. Spotting David as a likely target, the desperate Kamal steals his pouch of precious coins, and later arranges to meet with David to ransom his prize coin. Running to escape from a group of street thugs, Kamal and David are plunged deeper and deeper into the streets of Jerusalem's old city. Initially hostile to one another, Kamal and David wind up becoming close friends during the course of their wild adventures, but they are unaware that the Israeli authorities are hot on their trail...LEAD (3) SPEAKS ENGLISH WITH A PALESTINIAN ACCENT.
