Musicians,
I host a podcast called RISK! where people tell true stories they never thought they'd dare to share in public. Please listen to the first episode for free at iTunes. If you go to
www.risk-show.com and hit the "Subscribe to the Podcast" button in the upper right hand corner, you'll start downloading the first episode.
As you can hear from the show, we have lots of great indie music acts sending us 30-second "RISK!" theme songs as well as instrumental music to lay under the stories. There's no pay, but it's a great way to get exposure and be a part of something very cool.
Here's the four things we need musicians to know:
1) We need music we have permission to use for free in any format in the future (podcast, CD, etc.)
2) Theme songs are 30 seconds or less and include the word "RISK!" Theme songs play about 5 or 6 times per episode (a different one each time) and should be very upbeat.
3) Movie soundtrack-style instrumental pieces are also welcome. These will be edited into recorded stories, so they should feel suspenseful, or sad, or carefree, or terrifying, or bizarre, or ecstatic, or innocent, or horny, etc.
5) We encourage musicians to think of whether or not they might have unfinished tracks, demos and other stuff left on the cutting room floor or in their vaults. Easier to grab something old you might not have ever used anyway.
Musicians and their contact will be mentioned on the show and/or on the risk-show.com web site.
Thanks,
Kevin Allison
