When two necrophiliacs meet and begin a steamy romance, there is only one way for it to work....
Student filmmaker seeking three leads plus a few extras for a short 16 mm color film about a twisted romance between a mortician and a medical examiner for a dark comedy. Non union. Middle-aged preferred.
ALICE: our main (female) character, between 30 and 45; a medical examiner with a long history of necrophilia; her face reads a tortured history, while her voice sounds pleasant and sweet; she only has one brief monologue, so just like Werner, I need an actress who is extremely expressive in the face; a unique look- distressed yet fakes it
WERNER: a mortician, also between 30 and 45 who fancies Alice upon spotting her at a meeting, and begins a short-lived affair with her; think Kevin Spacey's character in American Beauty; self-deprecating, self-loathing; must be able to act with the face and body as his dialogue is brief
TOM: the chairperson of the meetings that Alice and Werner attend, a bit goofy, yet passionate about helping others overcome their shoddy sexual addiction; he's got the most dialogue and to an extent serves as a narrator
GROUP MEMBERS: middle-aged of varying types, silent roles; participants of the meetings, along with Alice and Werner
This may be another student film, but I have a great vision for this project and I see it working splendidly with the right actors. There is a sex scene involved, which will not require full nudity and our subject matter's pretty controversial- please be wary. I see this film as being at the intersection of a cutesy Wes Anderson film with the domestic disturbance of American Beauty and the moodiness of Eraserhead.
