Hello, Beautiful Performing Dancers!
We are a network of websites exclusively designed for dancers who are working or interested in working as a dancer professionally. We are looking for serious pre-professional and professional dancers who like to write blogs to join our team. We need dancers who would be willing to go to dance events, concerts, and Broadway shows (for free because you will have press passes arranged for you), watch the performance, and can submit a review within 48 hours. Reviews must be at least 300 words.
An excellent candidate for this would be a dancer who currently performs, takes a lot of dance classes, and has solid recognition for dance companies and choreographers (hot, emerging and verteran). This person should also have a strong dance vocabulary, knowledge of dance history, and insight into the Broadway, competition, and the New York professional audition scene.
As for writing your dance reviews, you must be able to be analytical, yet fair and most importantly, FUN. Our view point is from the young dancer's perspective; so, our stories must have a lot of ENERGY, allusions/metaphors/references to POP CULTURE, pop language (slang allowed) and wit. We don't want any dry, ivy league, type of writing. Our market is 13 to 25 year old pre-professional and professional dancers who have the passion to just dance. So, purely academic essays are definitely a no-no. On-camera speaking ability is also a plus, for we will be shooting a monthly round-up of our dance reviews for our internet tv show.
All dance professionals in all dance styles welcomed including ballet, contemporary, hip hop, freestyle street, dance as perforrmance art, circus skills, theater dance, tap, jazz, ethnic styles, and ballroom.
A three month committment is required; however, most of our members stay around because of the free perks. There is no pay at this time; however, there will be pay once the advertising dollars pour in from the operation of the social networking site. You are also welcome to link your personal links to your blog for any self promotion that you might want to do.
If interested, please call 212-426-1305, and email us your photo and resume with dance credits to
cmf2440@hotmail.com. Our home office is based in New York City. Our site is run by professional performing dancers of the stage and screen. There may be also opportunities to serve as on-air video interviewers of choreographers and/or correspondents at live events and dance concerts.
Only true dance lovers apply . . .
