I need a seasoned drummer for an upcoming recording project, as well as someone I can work with on gigs. As the rehearsals and workshops are just starting up, I would need a commitment of at least 6 months. In turn, the drummer will receive a allotted monthly stipend, split gig money, along with any applicable credits for performance and song arranging. Once all songs are work shopped, the producer will record the band all at once in an acoustically optimal room via stereo mike pair. No overdubs or mixing will be performed, though multiple takes will occur! The resulting performance therefore needs to be top notch in order to capture a quality recording. Most songs can be worked out by ear, but certain ones require a drum chart reading. The drummer can use demo arrangements I have created as guide for his/her approach; however, I am appreciative and open to new ideas and creative exploration.
HIGHLIGHTS-
- rehearse 4 times a month
- is highly attuned, sensitive, and dynamic, but also confident and bombastic when necessary
- can play multiple genres, with an emphasis on rock
- can read drum charts
- gig once a month
- producer of album is ex-Atlantic Studios engineer Barry Diament
Plus:
Can sing or play other percussion instrument (e.g. glockenspiel, vibes, celeste)
Please check out the recordings and videos at the links below and write me an email. Tell me a little about yourself: who you('ve) play(ed) with, styles you can play, favorite artists, etc. If all works out, we can set up a date/time for an audition.
Just so you know, some drummers I'm a fan of are Stewart Copeland, Matt Cameron, Jerry Marotta, Dave Grohl, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, and John Bonham. I do enjoy the hard hitters!
Best,
