We are currently casting for a short television production to be shot at NYU Tisch School of the Art's TV studio.

Audition Date: 10/25/2009 (If selected for an audition, we will provide you with more details as to the location and what to do to prepare.)

Project Synopsis:
Everybody wants to (secretly) be Michael and Ana. They are seniors at a school in Manhattan and have always been at the top of their class, both in school and out. Michael will be attending Columbia University to study English and Ana will be studying theater at NYU. They also happen to be in love... and, as graduation draws near, unexpectedly pregnant.

Roles Needed:

1. MICHAEL: Lead / Male / All Ethnicities / 16 - 19 years old
Description: Michael is a senior in high school and will be attending Columbia University in the fall to study English. If you asked Michael's friends how to describe him, they would say he is an all-around good guy. He connects to the art scene at school and in his community through his interest in film and photography, but he is also athletic and an overall social guy. Ana would tell you the same thing, except that when she puts on music and tries to get him to dance, his face goes blank and his knees buckle.

He has been in love with Ana since he heard her singing under the bleachers during gym class in middle school and will not let this unexpected pregnancy stand in the way of their future. They have been on the "right" track and planned for too long to let this unforeseen obstacle serve as an impediment to their future successes. As Ana shows visible signs of uncertainty over the situation, Michael steps up (as he always does), and let's the music play...

2. ANA: Lead / Female / All Ethnicities / 16 - 19 years old
Description: Ana is a senior in high school and will be fulfilling her lifelong desire to study theater at NYU in the fall. If you asked Ana's friends to describe her, they would be sure to say she is an all-around good person. She is hard-working, honest, and a gifted actress. She is also in love with Michael, and has been since he caught her singing under the bleachers one day during gym class in middle school.

And so, Ana finds herself in a situation that she had not planned for. How can her and Michael go to school with a baby to take care of? They have decided that she will get an abortion, but she is very uneasy about their decision. How could this happen to them? How could this happen to her? Here we see Ana just as vulnerable as most teenagers and as Michael turns on music (as she usually does when stressed), she is ready to succumb--at least for the moment--to the music...

3. CHERYL: Featured / Female / All Ethnicities / 38 - 50 years old
Description: Cheryl is Michael's mom. She is a professor of Anthropology at Columbia University. Cheryl has a loving husband and one son, Michael, who has been and always will be her shining star. When Cheryl walks in to her house to find Michael and Ana dancing and singing around the room, this is of no surprise to her. She chuckles to herself and continues on her merry way, because that is what Cheryl does. She is smart, kind, and an overall pleasant person, but often remains unaware of the reality of what it means to be a teenager. Little does she know, her shining star is in the middle of a life changing experience, of which she knows nothing...
