This is an adaptation of Junot Diaz's 'How to date a Brown Girl (black girl, white girl, or halfie). The film follows the narrator as he explains to his brother the ins and outs of dating and sex while growing up in Urban New Jersey.
The film will shoot Friday November 13, Saturday November 14, and Sunday November 15. Unfortunately, this is not a paying role. However, we will provide transportation and meals.
We are looking to cast all roles:
Narrator: The film's lead early twenties Dominican living in urban New Jersey. Character has dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin. Wise with years of experience confidently bestows his knoweldge of dating to his younger brother.
Brother: Playing age of 16 is preferable.
16 Year old Dominican growing up in urban NJ. Goes to his brother for advice on dating girls. Character also has dark eyes, dark skin, and dark hair.
Street thug whose notorious for bullying and robbing neighborhood kids. Picks a fight with the Narrator while on a first date. Character is tall, large, and intimidating.
The 'brown girl' of the script is seen throughout the piece as guarded by experience and less inclined to 'give it up'.
The 'black girl' of the story is seen throughout as being from the wealthy part of town but impressed by the narrators knoweldge of another culture.
The 'white girl' of the story is seen throughout as promiscuous and also intrigued by the narrator's culture.
The 'halfie' of the story is seen throughout as being able to detect the narrator's bs. We are looking for someone who is of mixed race. However, we are open to any one of any races, not necessarily someone whose parents are white and black, although we are open to this as well.
