Dana Tiel (dir.) is casting The Harshest Place, a ten-minute short film for SVA’s “The Project Class” shot in HD with instructor Bob Giraldi. It’s a romantic and darkly humorous story of a frustrated woman living in lonely New York City who realizes she's been looking for love in all the wrong places. Shoots in mid-December.

• Sarah- Lead- Mid-30s, Caucasian, average looking, short. Desperate for a man but accustomed to being alone.
• Doug- 30-40s, Caucasian, average looking. Playing a very friendly blind man who secretly admires Sarah.

• Elevator Man- 20s, any ethnicity, tall, husky. Ignores Sarah but is very friendly with Doug.
• Boss- 40-50s, Sarah’s superior. Geeky, dismissive and abrupt.
• Carl- 20-30s, physically fit, hitting on a woman at the gym.

• Mother- of Sarah. Belittling, older voice with New York accent for Voice Over.
Supporting Roles- No lines but imperative to the plot
• Mark- 30s, sneezes into Sarah’s face.
• Neighbor- 60-70s woman, across the hall from Sarah, spitefully adopts her cat.
• Mandy- 20s, physically fit, can jog for extended period of time, attractive.
• Peter- 30s, polite, holding the door open for his wife.
• Peter’s wife- 30s, attractive.
