The Amazing Amy: Contortion and Unique Yoga Dancer needs live music to accompany some of my solo acts at various venues around the NYC metropolitan area. My Yoga dances are all around 6 minutes in length and require musical accompaniment of varying styles to match the variety of my presentations. Most badly needed is klesmer-style music at the current time but creativity and ability to freely improvise to my movements is a must. A keyboard would probably be the best to achieve what I want but I'm open to skill on any instrument.
Alas, there is no to little pay involved for either myself or for my accompanist - this is for the fun of performing and the chance to showcase your musicianship because wherever I perform, I can almost always get my musical partner a solo spot for their talent to be displayed.
I desperately need a klezmer musician/keyboardist willing to work for $75 a gig with me for Hospital Audiences (these shows are one hour long and you'll get to play solos) and I please need that someone to be with me for an audition this Wed. Nov. 4 at 5:20 PM at the HAI offices, 548 Broadway, 3rd Fl., NYC. I also need a newbie (hopefully the same person) willing to perform some gigs for free for the fun of it, to gain experience, and for a chance to get a solo (as well as playing for my Yoga Yenta dance) from time to time, esp. during Nov. and Dec. during the Chanuka season. I just adore klezmer music and I think that creating a Yoga act to it is fresh and original and fun and I hope klezmer artists out there will be interested and I hope the Jewish community as a whole and the general public will be curious and excited when they see what I do.
Please go to my website to see all the data on who I am and what I do and see videos of my movement.
