And yes, Nevon and Red Alert are the same company. They were originally called Red Alert, but changed names. There are boxes and folders in the office at Nevon that say Red Alert. Also, the checks that I was paid with from Nevon said Red Alert.

Angel, really? wow! can you elaborate on their process a little bit? You can stay anonymous if you like. But I think it would help if the models new a little bit more about how the company allegedly gets over on them.

If they are bad there are a lot of models apparently falling for it. Maybe greater detail of how they operate would help.

They send talent scouts out to find a quota of people every day. The scouts must meet this quota to get paid. Once they bring the names in the assistants call and second call the names. They have the potential client come in and meet with Lyla or Vanessa. They then explain the different packages you can buy. The portfolio price is around $1000. Then you also have to pay for zed cards and other misc. fees. If you are just looking for pictures that is fine, but if you are actually looking for a good representation, this is not the company. They are only looking out for themselves. They can get the $1000 out of many unsuspecting people, but I do not see them ever booking people jobs. The entire process has an useasy feel. If you are a good judge of character, you will feel what I mean.

On top of this, just so you understand the kind of business it is, they do not pay the people who work for them (assistants & scouts.) Each week there is an excuse why they are not paid.

This company is just like the many others in LA that promise the fulfillment of big dreams, but have nothing to back it up with.

That is deep information and very disheartening because it means they don't care to move the talent forward even though that's what they sell the talent on.

Thank's for the information because I know it will help someone now that it is public.

I have just two more questions if you don't mind.

1. Do they sell unrealistic expectations to those that aren't qualified for the dream they have? (telling a non fashion type model that he or she should pursue it).

2. Do they claim to be an agency? Because when I search the California talent agency database I don't find any reference to them.

I believe they sell unrealistic expectations. I never hear them turn anyone down. Not to say that everyone isn't beautiful in their own way, but there is no way every single person that walks in can be model material.

They don't claim to be an agency. They say they are a management company, which doesn't require you to sign.
