Hi Sarajoy,

Copying what I just posted to another mom ....

I have 4 kids in the industry. They do both acting and modeling.
Basically, to get started just send some good quality snapshots of your child to the legit agents in your area. You don't need to invest in expensive photos at this point....though once an agency picks him up, you will need to pay for a professional photo shoot for headshots (and comp card if he wants to model too). No need to pay for expensive schools (like JRP) or conventions. Just submit directly to the agents and wait for their response. If interested, they will invite him in for an audition and interview at which time he may be asked to read some copy, do a monologue or might be just asked some questions to get a feel for his personality.

They are looking for not only good physical appearance, but also outgoing personality, ability to take direction well, etc. They will also be interested in making sure that "YOU" are easy to work with and not a pushy "stagemom" and that you are flexible and available to take him on auditions....sometimes with very little notice. Good luck. It's an exciting adventure!

Since I see that you are in the San Diego area, I'd suggest submitting to Jet Set Kids...very successful reputable agency.....they rep the current Welches grape juice girl...however, know that they are considered an LA agency so be prepared to drive to LA often for auditions. If you only want to do San Diego shoots, maybe they can suggest agencies that handle more local work. Check out www.jetsetmodels.com for a very informative website including submission procedures.

Hello there,

I'm not really sure what city you are in or how old your child is but...
There are a lot of agencies that specialize in children, its just that you may need to be local to them.

What state are you in?
