Exactly.
if you involve the agency in anyway they get a commission.
Theyt may choose to not take a commission if the agent who sends it decidesso.
But from your perspective, expect to pay.
So, if you want to keep your commissions...email your photos yourself.
Also, make sure you are
NOT exclusive with them.
Or better yet, cancel your contract with the agency, if you can.
Plus, if you hav an agency submitting you to castings (even the castings you find) you need to let them hanlde it. Situations like the one you just experienced make makes you AND your agency look out of sync. And it can make you look unprofessional, if not the agency as well.
That is why agencies
"land-based especially" like to get
exclusive contracts for their market. To avoid mishaps like this which causes them to ooose clients.
Now the "online agency" thing might be another issue all it's own. But for now...that is an irrelevant discussion.
