I wanted to know, if TRU TALENT MANAGEMENT is a scam or not.

Yes! they are a scam. Tru has changed their name at least 3 times always claiming to be a "different" agency, but have always been owned by Brandy Frommelt the original and only CEO. Look at BBB website for more info. I have been "signed" with the location in Salt Lake City (Holladay) UT for over 4 years.. since age 17. I paid thousands (earned form bagging groceries) for pictures, comp cards, membership, etc, and received calls for 2 auditions and some very rude treatment. Years later, my friend worked for them as an "agent assistant" aka talent scout. She was instructed to go to various public events and places and ask EVERYONE if they have ever thought about modeling or acting because "you really have the look." Her conscience and ethics didn't go along with this so she quit. Sounds unbelieveable right? Well, believe it, because they are scumbags. Taking money from everyone. Moms with "cute" kids, hopefull teens, and others sinking their life savings into this incompetent "agency" every day. Now they are opening more locations??? UNBELIEVEABLE.

Tru Talent is a SCAM! beware! i am dealing with the same thing. any tips on how i can resolve this? i've already lost a thousand, plus the fact they are involving collections after i found out it was a scam! many of their scouts have left the company, and several talents have dropped out as well.

I'm not sure exactly where they're base of operations are. I would check with the talent sections of each of these states to see if they are bonded or liscensed correctly.

The website claims to have locations in four states. Only one does not require a liscense. That state is Denver but it does require contractual agreements:

Denver, CO
Los Angeles, CA
Salt Lake City, UT
San Diego, CA

All of these states are require talent agencies to be liscense. Refer to this document to see the legal requirements of each state.

Checking the MyModelTalk Directory which is a current "copy" of the CA talent agency database I don't find a listing for tru talent. So if they are claiming to be an agency they are operating outside the law.

Report them if that is the case and also go to the better buisness burea and file a complain state they claim to have offices in.
