They are definitely a scam. They're running what is called a "photo mill scam." They basically force you to use their photographer which gives them a large kickback. I suspected this but didn't realize how true it was until I went in requesting my $200.00 deposit back because I decided to use my own photographer. Rickey has been giving me the runaround ever since. I had to show up to his office in order to get him to stop avoiding me. When I finally got to speak with him he told me he wasn't sure if he could give me my money back when in fact no services were rendered! I've called him again today and he's still giving me song and dance saying he "had to pay people" but yet I haven't taken any photos. I'm giving him until 5pm Friday or I WILL FILE SUIT.

You should include your 25.00 application fee too. When did you realize they were a scam? And did anything happen at the office that gave it away and you didn't pick up on right away?

I didn't realize how eager they were for me to use their photographer. They didn't give me any other options which apparently is standard to do or at least give you a variety or list to choose from that they recommend. Also they don't have any tear sheets from their models that have booked work. On top of that they pressured me to give them money right away and a large amount. I think someone mentioned this before but they're hustle is that they put you on their listserve and send you castings that if you get booked for you will pay them 20% of whatever you make. The truth is, you can go on craigslist or modelmayhem and find these same listings publicly. They just copy them, put them on the listserve, and try to make you go through them so that they can take 20% of what you earn.
