I paid the fee. I have heard nothing. Also, NYMMG (I believe it's called) requested I send additional photos on top of the 4 I sent origanally and they informed me they must be large so they can "see what they are working with..". I was sceptical about sending high resolution photos but I did...I have heard nothing back from either company. I get regular work from craigslist and MMT as well as Model Mayhem and Breakout Talent. Sometimes even from college film kids on MySpace! Just from personal experience, paying for anything but my gas to get to an audition has never amounted to anything that I couldn't get on my own. If you have what they want and they know you'll make them money, they will sign/represent you with no fees, or other BS. I have 5 girls I push for jobs and I've never asked for a dime, and I spend hours sometimes looking for gigs for them. However, when I book them, I make money...time well spent. This is already long enough I just wanted to add my 2 cents.

Luckily you are in California where if you are seeking work for models/talent, you must hold a valid California state required agency license that would prevent you from asking for anything upfront. In other states that don't have laws governing that, however, some times people play agent without licensing... and they don't necessarily follow the same guidelines as the legit folks must. :lol:

Casting agencies do not fall under that requirement, so may charge a fee (if they wish).

I live in California, and I just moved here, temporarily for work. I am based in VA

As for playing agent... I think I play quite well. However, Opinions are like (censored), everyone has one...bottom line is MY opinion on paying for castings or jobs...don't do it. To each his own.

Wow, I was just searching for info about this company (same add, 1000$, 19.99 processing fee- BS- ) and funny enough the first thing I found was this site with this topic haha. Well...THE GRAMMAR WAS THE FIRST FLAG, I mean come on.

They are looking for SERIOUS MODELS - hello? How can you do that if you are not serious enough to hire an assistant to compose a casting call without grammar and spelling mistakes? Also of course, I have found nothing on that adress, nor their licence registered.

I actually have a callback in Santa Monica tmrw, so I was thinking to stop by at that address, it will be on the way. But after this, I don't even think it is necessary...

The sad thing is that scammers like this do make money off of ppl who don't want to/cant bother to check them out. I dont think that you can't get legitimate jobs off of craiglist and sites lke this, many ppl are trying to avoid agency fees, and look for not represented models/actors. But I got this casting call from La Casting which is a serious, strictly professional site, all commercial agents work off of it. So its pretty sad.
