And this is just a handful of talent on MM.
You've got art directors, agency models and other professionals on there.

The problem with MM and the mainstream world is that they do allow the more artistici and edgier stuff. The same stuff that alienates Legitimate agencies. And because they don't limite the markets they allow as members they will never really appeal to agencies.

But they are STRICT about porn and other "offensive" stuff.
The profile you linked to is on thegoth/fetish side. But htat is a small part of the website.

It's mostly fashion and glamour based. But it incorporates other artforms.
You have a ton of novice artists who come there to network and learn from seasoned and veteran professionals in the industry. Either retired or still active.

Also the profile you linked to is breaking the rules by hving taht image as an avatar. If I went and reported the image, it'd be either marked 18+ or the profile would be immediately banned.

I'll say you're right on one thing though...
The forums ARE scary if you're not used to them.
They talk about anything and everything and fights do ensue easily.
There are quite a few rivalries on that site as well...

How exactly does one fight online? lol, And what would constitute a victory?

I love Model Mayhem. I've connected with some great models (and some weekend pervs) but mostly good reputable shoots. I've actually done a paid shoot for a line of hats for someone I met on there. You have a laundry list of nudy pics and perverts with cameras no matter where you go. MMT, as stated above, tries to weed out those ones and make this site a good "go-to" site for actors and models, etc. For examplpe, Imodel.com has alot of nudity on it, and because you don't have to be a professional (or even reputable) to get a profile on sites like OMP and Imodel and MM then you can just throw some naked pics of some girls that took their clothes off for you and call yourself a photographer (same goes for some models). I think it is impossible to avoid those "types" of people but if you are educated and do your research there are good ones out there. If there were ONLY good ones then we wouldn't need these sites to have "Watch Lists" or "Scam" categories.

Just my opinion.

One thing about MM that starts the #1 most arguments are the political topics.
The Democratic photographer vs. the Republican Photographer. I mean actual death threats are cast at each other.

It's quite funny...and a little disturbing all-in-one. lol.
