John Casablancas Modeling Agency.
CourtneyModels1 CourtneyModels1 is offline 01-29-2007, 07:14 PM

To put a LONG story short,
They said that we wouldn't have to pay ANYTHING. That they pay us, not vice~versa.
Those words came out of the PRESIDENT's mouth.
However when I received my call back for my interview, my scout informed us that I would have to go through their school in order to get into the actual agency.
Which would cost $2,250 .
They also say they're an affiliate of Elite.
Ha. They're not.
The President of Elite said themselves that you should not pay any upfront fees.

Hope I helped.

A lot of times the schools can seem misleading but i'm pretty certain that John Casablanca's is not a scam. They are in fact a school and you are correct in that they only represent talent that has completed their schooling.

I can't say as to whether Elite is affialitated in some way or not. That may be someone "strechting the truth". both companies are rather large so I wouldn' tbe surprised if some members of each work together from time to time.

Most of the time I don't think shcools are really needed until people start to specialize. E.G ( Voice Overs, etc...) .

Some people however may actually need schools like John Casablanca's to pick up the basics. Just really depends on the person. I'm moving this to the watchlist.

Angelus might know more...

Well, I said let me give this model school thing a try and went to John Cassablanca's. It was such a waste of time and money.

Default they are a scam

john casablancas got me into their trap and i ended up paying them $2000 for basically nothing, i can't even put that shit on my resume. it is a waste of time and money, they are in no way or form related to ELITE! another way to make money...if you want to be added to an agency try actorsrep, extramile, breakthrough studios in NY...they are legit

We ask our talent to please not admit to or to list a "modeling school" on any resume of credits. In reverse, however, models should all consider studying some acting - but from a qualified acting coach. Barbizon, JRP, etc., are essentially for people who want to pretend to model. I've seen some schools, for instance, teaching girls who are 5'1" how to walk a runway that they'll never, ever, see. Then again, it was covered in the cost of tuition.
