I have been doing promotional spokes modeling and trade shows for over 7 years. I worked for 1st Place Models (ww.1stplacemodels.com) August 11 & 12, 2007 at the Health and Fitness Expo at the LA Convention Center and STILL have not been paid the $500 owed; it has now been over 80 days!!! The client also let me know that they paid 1st Place Models BEFORE the event ever occurred. I am not the only model who has not been paid for various events and $500 is the low end of what they owe others! Do not believe me? Just google "Allen Knauer models" and you will find a whole slew of lawsuits. Try calling the phone number listed and you will get an anwsering service that is full (they all have the same phone number, just different websites). Try emailing them...no response. Beware!!!!

The agencies listed below are all owned by Allen Knauer and are a SCAM:

Have you been scammed by one of these companies as well? Then post your comment on this site:

This is why many states require an agency to be licensed and BONDED. If there is non payment, then the bond kicks in. Unfortunately, the state you are citing does not appear to have any requirements for agencies, which makes it difficult to have any recourse.

Default States that regulate Talent Agencies.

Here's a link to a thread containing a list of every regulated state in the US and the contact information for those goverment agencies that oversee it.

It's in MS Word form. Figured you guys might want to keep that close

I actually refer to this document frequently. It's really appreciated that you invested the time to research and develop it. Again, thanks!
