Indeed it does appear that there are at least several questionable issues with this company, each based strictly upon what appear to be the breaking of laws - and, at least, which cannot be explained or backed up by their own "Director." The individual, who was posting for OST, representing that company, appeared to actually have very little knowledge of her own company herself. I was wondering if perhaps this "amanda" isn't really with that company at all. Certainly a "Director" for a company would be aware of such simple things as to whether or not the company had a license or not... and would know the difference between simple words such as "Deformation/Defamation" and "Waste/Waist," or that begins sentences with the word, "And." I know very few Directors of large companies that are not properly educated, especially in their written presentations and responses. Add to this the fact that "amanda" is using two different MySpace sites - both with photos, implied as being herself, which are not even the same person. In fact, in one she appears to of an Asian background. On her other MySpace site, she is clearly Caucasian. This doesn't add up and is either some sort of horrible mistake, or an attempt to possibly defraud viewers.
It is also known by individuals own testimonies that OST "requires" you to use "their photographers." These photographers, whose work is often not up to professional standards, is considerably more expensive than if you were to hire a professional fashion or commercial shooter in your own area. The notion that someone should pay for electronic comp cards is absurd as well. While everybody understands that a professionally printed comp card costs money to create (generally approximately $1 each, or less, in bulk), even then the model should be allowed to, (1) source their own photographers, and (2) source their own printing company (often as long as they follow the agency-requested layout/format, and include the agency logo... BUT THEN AGAIN, ONE SOURCE TALENT IS NOT AN AGENCY ACCORDING TO AMANDA, so why would they even need you to have a comp card with them to begin with?).
Someone is selling snake oil off of the back of their wagon. It's a shame that these types of things continue to tarnish the industry and take advantage of those who are unaware of how the business really works.
