So I've decided to move to Los Angeles at the end of the year to pursue my acting career on a full time basis. I will also continue my career while I'm there, but as of now, I still don't have an agent. I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and send my resume and headshots to agents out there or if I should continue my search here. I'm so anxious and nervous because I'm leaving everyone back here in GA. I have no connections, family or friends there, but it's a chance I've gotta take. Any feedback? Thoughts? Advice?
Forgive me for blogging so late--I'm working 3rd Shift tonight, but I have come across several sites that have auditions for this new show called "The Audition" created by Simon Fuller. It says that auditions will end on May 23rd which is only a few days away, so I'm frantically trying to find out how to actually audition for this show. Through all the "reality craze" I've been patiently awaiting a show that is dedicated to actors and models! If anyone has any info on how to formally audition for this show, please let me know and if I find out, I'll do the same :)
Once again, I put my skepticism aside and go to an open call for a company who claims that they are not looking for money. So I get a call back and am actually making arrangements with my family and friends thinking that I'm about to pack up and move to L.A. (which is what they were saying), but unfortunately at this "call back" they basically gave me a package for the prices of their "showcase" which cost like two thousand dollars. There was nothing mentioned about money the first day nor when they called me back. I've always heard that you should never pay money for representation or for "showcases." I am sooo disappointed. I thought this was really going to be my chance....Fooled yet again....
