you have no idea...
Posted On: 06/19/2007 23:22:38
a child falls to scrape a knee...
"oh, too bad - poor thing, he's crying.."
...but you have no clue.
what's going through that boy's mind?
so many things.
overwhelming pain and exertion to express the aplitude of his experience
-in five minutes it may be over and forgotten with,
but that frame of time is only lived by the one who is being watched.
who's to say it's not an incredible take on reality?
...it's a mere example of future to come.
see, we learn as a child how to cope with these emotions but, if you think about it, it's a natural thing.
it's natural to shut down and ask why.
look at a child...
so innocent, so vague to the world's mishaps...
but the reaction and accurate frustration is still there...
needing...
needing to be known
by just one - and the cries would subside.
subtle understanding, even to a minute degree would cure so much of the pain...
but no one's willing -
you can smile, but if he doesn't know you...
who the ??? are you??!
we are constantly growing
knowing nothing but learning truth...
because what is earth, really?
a perception.

Deep statement. I read it twice and got two different meanings. Both positive. All hail the first MMT poet.

Pretty interesting. Thanks for posting.

I often observe the wonder of children as they learn new things or do things independent of an adult's direction.

They do respond as we do...even if only to the understanding of their limited or "new" experiences.

Ironic that of all creatures of life as children are born the most vulnerable yet through a our nurturing, protection and teachings...they become complex adults limited only by his/her own choices and capable of shaping the worlds we live in.
